Massies Mill Ruritan Club is a proud member of Ruritan National, an organization with approximately 30,000 members across the United States, all dedicated to enhancing over 1,100 local communities. Ruritan’s mission is to foster better understanding among people and improve the quality of life in American communities through volunteer service.

Founded in 1951, the Massies Mill Ruritan Club actively supports its mission by hosting fundraising events and offering its venue for weddings, reunions, and other special occasions. Proceeds help fund local initiatives, with donations supporting organizations like the Piney River & Montebello Fire Departments, Nelson County High School FFA, Nelson Middle School’s Business Department, American Red Cross, Hunters for the Hungry, Roseland Rescue Squad, Jefferson-Madison Regional Library, Virginia 4-H Foundation, Tye River Cub Care Program, Nelson County Food Pantry, and many others. Additionally, the Club provides annual college scholarships to students at Nelson County High School.​
